Tiny plan9-inspired hosted operating-system in a quine where everything is a file and every file is reactive. Operations are carried through a plain-text protocol exposed as a system call. Saving writes the whole system (including running processes) back into the file it was opened from, and opening that file brings it all back.
# The parts of wombat
- # Wom
- Wom is the kernel, it defines what a file is and the two system calls:
- req: takes a verb (get, put, del) a path (parts are separated by a /) and a body. The request travels from the root to the destination.
- mount: A program can mount a handler on a path, and intercept any req that travels through it.
- Wom is the kernel, it defines what a file is and the two system calls:
- # Bat
- Bat is the process manager. A process is a directory, and its state is the files in it. When a process runs, bat creates a namespace unique to that process so that any req within that process is transformed according to the binding rules defined when the process started.
# Wombat in the browser
- paw is the window manager, exposed as a file server. Double click anywhere to start a new req process
